Overview
The procurement unit has several functions, which include:
- Preparing the Annual Procurement Plan for the approval of the Permanent Secretary.
- Identifying the supply risks associated with each category of goods and services being procured.
- Assisting in developing significant procurement strategies in conjunction with requesting Units/Division.
- Reviewing and compiling the Annual Schedule of Planned Procurement Activities of Divisions/Units.
- Pre-qualifying supplies/contractors in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act of 2015 (as amended) and its regulations.
- Compiling a list of pre-qualified suppliers/contractors as required by Division/Units.
- Managing all procurement activities in accordance with the approved Annual Procurement Plan (inclusive of all activities in procurement process).
- Managing the retention and disposal of personal property in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act of 2015 (as amended) and its regulations.
- Monitoring and measuring procurement performance and preparing the Annual Procurement Performance Report.
- Recommending the updating and improvement of the Handbook and Special Guidelines.
- Submitting quarterly reports as required to the Office of the Procurement Regulations.
- Managing procurement and disposal records and documentation
